Deck overview

This deck harnesses Astonishing Spider-Man to turn hand discards into massive card draw and burn damage. Built around a core of Izzet wheels, looting, and discard payoffs, the strategy seeks to deploy its commander on curve alongside damage engines like Psychosis Crawler, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Brallin, Skyshark Rider. When Spider-Man attacks, it dumps the current hand and refills it based on the total count of cards discarded that turn, generating substantial card velocity and triggering severe table-wide burn. Supporting enchantments and creatures like The Locust God and Toothy, Imaginary Friend convert these massive draw steps into a wide swarm of flying insects and massive threats. The deck recovers efficiently through graveyard mechanics like flashback, retrace, and Underworld Breach. While light on countermagic, the list makes up for it with high functional redundancy, rapid cycling, and explosive combat steps that close games quickly.
