Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines Spider typal combat with Food and token aristocrat synergies under Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The early game focuses on accelerating mana through low-cost land ramp and rocks to deploy high-toughness Spiders and token engines such as Arasta of the Endless Web and Peregrin Took. Once Shelob enters the battlefield, all friendly Spiders gain deathtouch and Ward {2}, turning combat and fight spells into lethal removal that steals opposing creatures as Food artifacts. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by converting accumulated Food and creature tokens into massive combat buffs via Night of the Sweets' Revenge or draining life totals with Mirkwood Bats. Supported by flexible removal like Assassin's Trophy and Force of Vigor, alongside resilient protection from Swarmyard and Royal Treatment, the deck controls creature combat while grinding out a commanding table finish by Turn 8.
