Riku of Many Birds by Xara

Format: Commander

Commander: Riku of Many Paths

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Temur spellslinger deck built entirely around modal spells, helmed by Riku of Many Paths. Every modal spell cast triggers Riku's ability, generating card advantage (exiling the top card to play later), pumping Riku with +1/+1 counters, and creating flying Bird tokens. The deck's primary path to victory is combat: it builds a wide board of tokens from Talrand, Sky Summoner, Young Pyromancer, Docent of Perfection, and Riku's own Birds, then closes with Overwhelming Stampede or Return of the Wildspeaker. A secondary burn line exists through Sorcerer Class's level 3 ability. The deck is interaction-dense, running a deep suite of counterspells and modal removal, making it a value-heavy midrange control deck that wins through inevitability rather than a fast combo.
