Format: Commander

Commander: Sorin of House Markov // Sorin, Ravenous Neonate

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is an Orzhov lifegain-and-drain deck built around the front face of Sorin of House Markov, using his low-cost extort and lifelink to accrue life while the rest of the table bleeds. The back face, Sorin, Ravenous Neonate, is a secondary payoff rather than the main plan; its -1 ability can bolt anything using the life you gained that turn, and its ultimate is only a bonus. The deck's primary win condition is the Exquisite Blood drain loop, pairing it with any "whenever you gain life, opponent loses life" effect such as Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest. A second kill channel uses Wound Reflection to turn halving effects like Fraying Omnipotence and a kicked Scourge of the Skyclaves into end-step table kills. Big-mana fallbacks via Bolas's Citadel, Cabal Coffers, and Exsanguinate round out the plan.
