Deck overview

This deck is a Jund -1/-1 counter engine led by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch that blends creature-based attrition, aristocrats drain, and massive card draw. The early game establishes mana acceleration through low-cost mana dorks and rocks to deploy Auntie Ool ahead of curve. Once on the battlefield, Auntie Ool turns every -1/-1 counter placed on friendly creatures into fresh cards, while taxing opponents with life loss whenever their creatures receive counters. Synergistic enablers like Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Nest of Scarabs, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician rapidly generate swarms of deathtouch Snakes and Insects while shrinking opposing threats. The deck controls the board with asymmetric sweepers like Carnifex Demon and Black Sun's Zenith, alongside soft-locks like Kulrath Knight. Victory is achieved by draining the table with Obelisk Spider, Blood Artist, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, or overwhelming opponents with unblockable token swarms by Turn 8.
