Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo deck turns combat damage into overwhelming card advantage. The strategy revolves around resolving low-cost utility and saboteur creatures in the early game, supported by persistent draw enchantments such as Coastal Piracy and Bident of Thassa. Once the engine is established, casting the commander, Sun Quan, Lord of Wu, grants horsemanship to all friendly creatures. Because horsemanship is virtually nonexistent in Commander, this makes the entire army unblockable. Unblockable attacks reliably trigger saboteur abilities, drawing multiple cards per turn while escalating pressure through big payoffs like Spawning Kraken, Auton Soldier, and Strixhaven Stadium. The deck protects its board with efficient counterspells and equipment like Commander's Plate and Lightning Greaves, using asymmetric board bounces such as Cyclonic Rift and Spectral Deluge to clear opposing obstacles.
