Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying inexpensive, symmetrical life-loss triggers—such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Underworld Dreams—that reliably deal damage during each opponent's turn. This constant bleed fuels Valgavoth's ability, granting +1/+1 counters and drawing three extra cards per turn cycle. The deck leverages this massive card advantage to sculpt its hand, deploy damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and maintain board control using efficient removal and redirect spells like Deflecting Swat. It closes games rapidly through compounding burn, commander damage, large Torment of Hailfire casts, or the two-card infinite drain loop of Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity.
