This Mardu combo deck uses Celes, Rune Knight as a command-zone engine piece to break the persist mechanic. Whenever a creature returns from the graveyard with a -1/-1 persist counter, Celes triggers and places a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures. State-based actions immediately annihilate both counters, returning the creature to a clean state. Pairing any persist creature like Putrid Goblin with a free sacrifice outlet like Goblin Bombardment or Altar of Dementia produces an infinite loop that eliminates all three opponents in a single turn. Backed by format-ceiling fast mana, premium black and white tutors, and silence effects like Grand Abolisher, the deck reliably threatens a protected win on Turn 3. It also carries alternate win lines, including Dualcaster Mage with Molten Duplication and Underworld Breach recursion lines.
