Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity wheel and token swarm strategy commanded by Xyris, the Writhing Storm. The primary game plan ramps on turns 1 and 2, casts Xyris on turn 3 or 4, and immediately resolves a wheel spell such as Wheel of Fortune or Windfall. Because each opponent draws seven cards, Xyris creates twenty-one 1/1 Snake tokens in a single resolution while refilling the pilot's hand. The deck converts this sudden board presence into a decisive win through enter-the-battlefield burn pieces like Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors, massive combat overruns using Craterhoof Behemoth and Shared Animosity, or explosive mana conversions via Phyrexian Altar. Strong free interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat shields the commander during critical windows, while backup engines like The Locust God ensure resilience if Xyris is removed.
