Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir tempo and combat burn strategy helmed by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan deploys cheap, evasive one-mana creatures on Turn 1 and uses Commander Ninjutsu on Turn 2 to cheat Yuriko into combat uncountered and without commander tax. Each combat connection triggers Yuriko's ability, drawing cards while draining each opponent's life total equal to the revealed card's mana value. Topdeck manipulation spells like Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and Scheming Symmetry set up high-mana payoffs such as Shadow of Mortality and Dig Through Time to inflict massive symmetric burn across all opponents. Because the core engine operates on very low mana, the deck easily keeps mana open for interaction. It protects its board and disrupts opposing win attempts with an efficient package of free and cheap counterspells like Mental Misstep, Spell Pierce, and Misdirection. If combat damage is stalled, the deck seamlessly transitions into an instant-speed combo finish using Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation.
