Sidewinder Hylda by user3617739

Format: Commander

Commander: Hylda of the Icy Crown

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hylda of the Icy Crown leads a U/W tap-matters control deck. The primary plan is to slow the board by tapping creatures, then convert every tap into 4/4 Elemental tokens, card draw, or buffs. Rhoda and Timin act as a hidden sub-commander pair, rewarding the same tap triggers with +1/+1 counters and an extra tap. Secondary paths are an Intruder Alarm/Ashnod's Altar/Court Street Denizen loop that makes infinite tokens and mana, which can fuel an on-the-spot Approach of the Second Sun, and a go-tall Moonshaker Cavalry swing. Interaction is heavily instant-speed, with counterspells and removal protecting the engine until the token board takes over.
