Deck overview

This Dimir control deck uses Toxrill, the Corrosive as an asymmetric creature wipe and card advantage engine. In the early game, the deck establishes mana velocity through rocks like Arcane Signet and Worn Powerstone while holding up cheap counterspells such as Counterspell and An Offer You Can't Refuse. Once Toxrill enters the battlefield on Turn 6, it places slime counters on opposing creatures at every end step, shrinking enemy boards and spawning 1/1 Slug tokens. Proliferate engines including Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus and Inexorable Tide accelerate both slime counters and a secondary poison package. The deck converts its board control into a definitive win via drain effects from Mirkwood Bats and Massacre Wurm, Slug combat, or accumulated poison counters. While highly resilient in creature-heavy pods, the deck must carefully navigate its 7-mana commander cost and low 28-land count.
