Deck overview

This Golgari deck commands Ygra, Eater of All, leveraging its ability to turn all other creatures into Food artifacts to break parity across artifact destruction, stax locks, and aristocrat drain triggers. Supported by efficient green ramp and black tutors, the deck deploys Ygra by Turn 4. On Turn 5, it executes an asymmetric blowout using mass artifact sweepers like Creeping Corrosion, Fade from History, or Bane of Progress. Because Ygra categorizes opposing creatures as Food artifacts while remaining a non-artifact creature itself, these sweepers unilaterally wipe all opposing boards and pump Ygra into a lethal 20+ power threat with near-unpayable Ward costs. Alternatively, engines like Karn, the Great Creator lock down opposing creature and artifact abilities completely, while Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice convert every sacrificed Food and token death into unavoidable life loss. Robust 1–2 mana protection spells defend the board as Ygra closes out the table across 2 combat response cycles.
