Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain strategy commanded by Amalia Benavides Aguirre, focusing on converting high-density lifegain triggers into rapid card selection, +1/+1 counters, and table-wide drain. The game plan opens with low-mana enablers like Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, and Guide of Souls, assembling Amalia on Turn 2 to initiate continuous explore triggers on Turn 3. As Amalia grows, she filters draws and fills the graveyard while threatening a one-sided creature wipe at 20 power. Meanwhile, drain amplifiers such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, and Cliffhaven Vampire translate every lifegain event into direct damage against each opponent. The deck features strong exile-based removal including Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, and Farewell to disrupt key threats. Without dedicated tutors or fast combo loops, victory is achieved through scaling combat pressure, amplified drain, and late-game finishers like Debt to the Deathless.
