Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive group slug strategy centered on Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. By deploying low-cost passive damage sources such as Razorkin Needlehead, Roiling Vortex, and Underworld Dreams, the deck ensures opponents take damage on their own turns. This repeatedly triggers Valgavoth, quickly transforming the commander into a massive flying threat while drawing three extra cards per turn cycle. The influx of cards fuels a heavy suite of defensive spells, removal, and escalating punishment enchantments like Manabarbs and Painful Quandary. Damage amplifiers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Wound Reflection accelerate the clock, allowing the deck to grind down opposing life totals while closing the game through evasive commander combat or explosive drain spells like Exsanguinate.
