Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai graveyard-centric midrange engine commanded by Teval, the Balanced Scale. It leverages self-mill to fill the graveyard with lands, recursive creatures, and powerful payoffs. Teval ramps lands onto the battlefield upon attacking while triggering token creation whenever cards leave the graveyard. The deck converts zone transitions into a formidable board presence using payoffs such as Insidious Roots, Tormod, the Desecrator, Desecrated Tomb, and Skeleton Crew. Victory is achieved by combining wide combat swings with asymmetric aristocrat burn from Mirkwood Bats, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, or by resolving a game-ending Living Death. With resilient recursion packages in Muldrotha, the Gravetide, Meren of Clan Nel Toth, and Life from the Loam, the deck easily recovers from removal, though it remains vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile and stack-based combo strategies.
