Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis Wizard combo-control deck commanded by Inalla, Archmage Ritualist. The deck leverages Inalla's eminence ability directly from the command zone, paying {1} to create temporary hasty copies of nontoken Wizards whenever they enter the battlefield. This doubles the value of utility creatures like Spellseeker, Aether Channeler, and Archaeomancer. The primary win condition is the compact, format-defining combination of Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation (or Tainted Pact), which reliably closes the game on Turn 4. A robust suite of free and efficient counterspells (Force of Will, Pact of Negation, Flusterstorm) defends the combo while disrupting opposing threats. In addition to its primary line, the deck features redundant self-mill win conditions (Laboratory Maniac, Jace, Wielder of Mysteries), an infinite extra-turn engine with Wanderwine Prophets, and an infinite mill/drain loop with Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank.
