Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir reanimator strategy designed to exploit the transformation of Runo Stromkirk into Krothuss, Lord of the Deep. During the opening turns, the deck uses cantrips, looters, and targeted graveyard tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive to place massive sea monsters into the graveyard. Runo enters on Turn 3, setting up a 6+ mana value creature on top of the library to guarantee transforming into Krothuss on the Turn 4 upkeep. Once transformed, the deck reanimates or casts a sea monster and attacks. Krothuss triggers on attack to clone the attacking sea monster twice, flooding the battlefield with overwhelming threats such as Spawning Kraken, Hullbreaker Horror, and Junk Winder. Asymmetric sweepers like Whelming Wave clear opposing boards without disturbing the sea-monster horde, allowing the deck to close out the game through lethal combat on Turn 6.
