Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is piloted by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, operating as an engine-driven lifegain and aristocrat combo deck. The primary strategy focuses on establishing early mana acceleration and passive lifegain enablers like Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Black Market Connections, setting the stage to deploy the commander on Turn 5. Once on the board, Niv-Mizzet translates lifegain into substantial card advantage, drawing into infinite drain combinations such as Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest. Supported by heavy creature control and alternate win engines including Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir, the deck steadily buffers its life total before executing a same-turn table elimination.
