Commander: Baral, Chief of Compliance

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck uses Baral, Chief of Compliance to reduce the cost of instants and sorceries and to loot whenever you counter a spell. You play draw-go, answering threats with more than thirty counterspells while building card advantage through Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Archmage Emeritus and Wavebreak Hippocamp. The deck wins after it exhausts opponents, using Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries with Windfall or Frantic Search to win when you would draw from an empty library, or with Triskaidekaphile, Twenty-Toed Toad, or large tokens from Shark Typhoon, Metallurgic Summonings and Murmuring Mystic. Hullbreaker Horror serves as a hidden commander that locks the board by bouncing spells and permanents.
