Tamiyo by BigJawn

Format: Commander

Commander: Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student // Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Simic deck wins by growing +1/+1 counters and attacking. Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student is a 0/3 flyer that attacks to investigate and exiles to become Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar when you draw your third card in a turn. The front face provides early card flow; the back face is a planeswalker that recurs instant or sorcery cards, ramps green spells, and can draw half your library. The main plan stacks counters on Managorger Hydra, Forgotten Ancient, Mossborn Hydra and similar threats, then doubles them with Bristly Bill. Secondary paths use myriad from Polygoyf and Scurry of Squirrels to hit all opponents at once, landfall tokens from Scute Swarm, and draw payoffs like Nadir Kraken and Psychosis Crawler. Bristly Bill acts as the hidden commander for the counter-doubling engine.
