Commander: Matoc, Lavamancer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Matoc, Lavamancer is a mono-red engine commander who turns every exact-2-damage event into card advantage by exiling the top of the library and letting you play it. The deck is built around a core of symmetrical pinging enchantments and creatures that convert each cheap spell into multiple 2-damage triggers, which in turn feed Matoc and the 'cast from exile' payoff cards. The primary plan is to assemble two or more of these pings, then chain spells to burn out all opponents; a secondary combo uses Blasphemous Act, Repercussion, and Chandra's Incinerator to loop noncombat damage for a sudden kill. The commander is the main gas tank, but the deck also has independent burn finishes.
