Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain, aristocrats, and big-mana control strategy commanded by Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim. The deck focuses on building a secure life buffer and establishing sacrifice-and-recursion engines using pieces like Bloodghast, Lurrus of the Dream-Den, and Sun Titan. While Ayli provides early life gain and converts excess life (at 50 or more) into repeatable nonland permanent exile, the deck primarily closes games through massive mana sinks. Late-game haymakers such as Army of the Damned, a kicked Josu Vess, Lich Knight, and a large Exsanguinate generate overwhelming board presence and life drain. The deck features potent sorcery-speed board wipes like Farewell and Merciless Eviction to reset opposing boards, but runs minimal cheap instant-speed interaction and stack protection, requiring thoughtful timing and resilient graveyard lines to secure victory.
