Deck overview

This deck executes an Esper lifegain control strategy helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. Oloro provides steady passive life accumulation from the command zone starting on Turn 1, ensuring life totals remain well above starting parity without requiring early commander deployment. The deck leverages 10 low-cost mana rocks to build mana velocity, deploying card advantage engines like Well of Lost Dreams and Fact or Fiction to stay stocked with answers. A dense interaction suite of 19 removal spells, sweepers, and counterspells keeps opposing threats in check. The primary win path focuses on deploying Felidar Sovereign at 40 or more life to close the game on the following upkeep, backed by secondary win conditions such as Aetherflux Reservoir, indestructible 5/5 Horse tokens from Crested Sunmare, and drain attrition via Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Sanguine Bond.
