Deck overview

This Orzhov deck uses MacCready, Lamplight Mayor to drive an aggressive poison and proliferate strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying cheap toxic and infect creatures during the opening turns. MacCready gives these low-power creatures skulk, allowing them to bypass large blockers with ease. Once opponents receive their initial poison counters, the deck accelerates the clock through unblockable combat damage, global poisoning spells like Ichor Rats, and recurring proliferate triggers from cards like Metastatic Evangel. Asymmetric board wipes like The Battle of Bywater and Dusk // Dawn clear away high-power enemy creatures while leaving your own low-power attackers completely intact. In addition, cards like Meekstone and Ghostly Prison restrict opposing counterattacks. While vulnerable to small blockers and mass exile spells, mass reanimation spells like Raise the Past allow the deck to recover rapidly from sweepers and eliminate all three opponents.
