Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue control strategy commanded by The Watcher in the Water. Its primary objective is to play at instant speed, casting card draw spells and interaction during opponents' turns to amass a large army of 1/1 Tentacle creature tokens. As the token swarm expands, the deck leverages evasion enablers like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and coastal piracy effects such as Bident of Thassa, Curiosity Crafter, and Enduring Curiosity to convert attacks into overwhelming card advantage. The defensive suite features a dense collection of efficient counterspells, targeted removal, and mass bounce spells like River's Rebuke and Filter Out. When Tentacles die in combat or via sacrifice utility, their death triggers place stun counters on opposing threats while slowly waking the 9/9 Kraken commander. The deck gradually grinds out the table through unblockable combat damage and steady board control.
