Deck overview

This mono-green deck is led by Gargos, Vicious Watcher, focusing on big mana acceleration, explosive Hydra deployment, and board control through fight triggers. Gargos acts as both a massive mana engine by reducing Hydra costs by four mana and an oppressive removal outlet by fighting opposing creatures whenever any spell targets your creatures. The deck curves from early mana elves and land ramp into a Turn 5 Gargos, quickly followed by undercosted behemoths like Voracious Hydra, Hydra Broodmaster, and Lifeblood Hydra. Combat is pushed through trample enablers like Garruk's Uprising and massive pump spells such as Overwhelming Stampede or Return of the Wildspeaker. A dense suite of one-mana protection spells doubles as offensive removal by triggering Gargos fights while keeping the board safe from opposing interaction.
