Deck overview

Splinter, Radical Rat leads an Esper aggro-control deck centered on Ninja tribal mechanics, Ninjutsu, and doubled triggered abilities. The game plan relies on deploying low-cost, unblockable creatures on early turns to serve as reliable attack vectors. Once Splinter enters the battlefield, any combat damage triggers from Ninjas trigger an additional time, turning value engines like Ingenious Infiltrator and Satoru, the Infiltrator into massive card advantage bursts and turning finishers like Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Shredder, Shadow Master, and Dark Leo & Shredder into rapid life-total shredders. The deck protects its proactive game plan with efficient counterspells, targeted removal, and phase-out protection while leveraging Sneak and Ninjutsu to bypass sorcery-speed interaction. Although the deck is reliant on maintaining combat connections and vulnerable creature permanents, its dense card draw and backup engines allow it to close games consistently by Turn 7.
