Deck overview

Zurgo Stormrender commands an aggressive Mardu token-aristocrats deck centered on combat triggers and token turnover. The deck deploys efficient mana rocks and low-cost attackers to cast Zurgo on curve. When Zurgo and other Mobilize creatures attack, they create temporary attacking tokens. Zurgo converts combat attrition into substantial card advantage by drawing cards whenever attacking tokens leave the battlefield. Outside of combat or at the end step, sacrifice outlets and aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Mirkwood Bats drain opponents' life totals. Trigger duplicators such as Isshin, Two Heavens as One and Teysa Karlov accelerate this clock, transforming wide attacks into lethal indirect burn.
