Deck overview

This Abzan deck is a toxic and corrupted midrange strategy led by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa. The deck curves out early with low-mana Phyrexian creatures boasting toxic and infect, such as Bilious Skulldweller, Bloated Contaminator, and Skrelv, Defector Mite. Once an opponent gains three poison counters, Ixhel's corrupted ability activates, generating persistent card advantage by exiling and casting cards from opponents' libraries. Midgame transitions focus on compounding poison counters using dense proliferate engines like Contagion Engine, Evolution Sage, and Drown in Ichor, while locking down opposing aggression via Authority of the Consuls and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. A secondary infinite combo involving Phyrexian Vindicator and Guilty Conscience offers a direct lethal bypass. Overall, the deck balances early pressure, attrition, and consistent non-life-total elimination.
