Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Spellslinger and Graveyard Attrition engine commanded by Emet-Selch of the Third Seat. The deck pairs self-mill, cantrips, and targeted removal with continuous life-drain triggers from cards like Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, and Cuombajj Witches. When opponents lose life, Emet-Selch allows you to recast instants and sorceries directly from your graveyard at a {2} generic mana discount, creating an interactive value engine across every player's turn. The mid-game leverages cost-reduced interaction to control opposing threats while steadily filling the graveyard with spells. Once the graveyard holds 8 to 12 or more instant and sorcery cards, the deck transitions to a win by resolving Rise from the Tides to generate an overwhelming army of 2/2 Zombie tokens, followed by Candlekeep Inspiration to grant massive power boosts or Shepherd of Rot and Exsanguinate for direct table-wide life drain. Strong countermagic defends the engine, though mass graveyard exile remains its primary vulnerability.
