Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger control strategy built around Eluge, the Shoreless Sea. By placing flood counters on lands whenever it enters or attacks, Eluge provides an enormous cost reduction ({U} or {1} per flood counter) on the first instant or sorcery cast on each player's turn. The deck leverages this ability by chaining instant-speed blink spells to rapidly multiply flood counters, turning high-impact spells like Cryptic Command, Sublime Epiphany, and Flow of Knowledge into free or single-mana plays across every turn of the table rotation. Card draw engines such as Archmage Emeritus and The Theorist, Jace Beleren keep the hand full of interaction. The deck transitions into a win via unblockable commander damage from a massive Eluge, token swarms from Talrand, Sky Summoner or Shark Typhoon, and total board dominance through Hullbreaker Horror and Displacer Kitten loops.
