Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity 5-color spellslinger and combo archetype centered around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The primary strategy utilizes efficient low-mana ramp in the early turns to deploy Codie, Ravenous Codex and prepare permanents by Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck reaches usable assembly by casting Displacer Kitten alongside prepare creatures like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song. Casting the prepare spell triggers Displacer Kitten to flicker the creature back into play in its prepared state, establishing a deterministic loop that generates infinite red mana and unlimited spell casts. This engine is translated into a table-wide victory by blinking draw creatures like Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall to draw the deck and deploying burn payoffs such as Coruscation Mage, Fiery Inscription, or Vivi Ornitier. Backed by free countermagic, split-second stack protection via Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun, and redundant copy engines, the deck presents a fast and resilient clock.
