Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai spellslinger midrange list helmed by Gandalf, Party Guest. The strategy revolves around assembling a dense board of legendary Wizards to scale Gandalf's combat trigger, enabling you to cast massive instants and sorceries from hand for free each turn. Supported by efficient 2-mana ramp, the deck curves into Gandalf on Turn 4 and quickly snowballs card advantage using Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Venat, Heart of Hydaelyn, and deep selection spells. As the game progresses, token generators like Monastery Mentor, Talrand, Sky Summoner, and Deekah, Fractal Theorist build an expansive flying board, which is subsequently converted into an unblockable, lethal attack through Akroma's Will, Taunt from the Rampart, or Cathars' Crusade. The list features robust fallback plans, pivoting naturally into a standard spellslinger swarm strategy whenever Gandalf is answered.
