Deck overview

This Sultai Commander deck leverages Thranduil, the Elvenking at the intersection of traditional Elfball mana acceleration and graveyard toolbox combo. In the opening turns, the deck deploys efficient mana dorks like Llanowar Elves, Birds of Paradise, and Devoted Druid to accelerate mana production. It then utilizes targeted graveyard enablers like Buried Alive and Dina's Guidance to load high-impact Elf cards into the graveyard. Once Thranduil enters the battlefield, he inherits the activated abilities of every entombed Elf. By combining the untap mechanics of Devoted Druid with the counter-placing power of Immaculate Magistrate, Thranduil generates infinite +1/+1 counters and infinite mana. The deck can pivot cleanly into an alternate infinite mana engine using Ashaya, Soul of the Wild and Argothian Elder, or draw through the library to close the game with Thassa's Oracle. A dense suite of cheap countermagic and targeted removal ensures the combo remains protected against opposing interaction.
