Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Baron Helmut Zemo to cheat massive, high-pip black spells into play ahead of schedule. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with heavily costed cards like Doomsday Excruciator, Zodiark, Umbral God, and Phyrexian Obliterator using dedicated tutors such as Buried Alive alongside self-mill and swampcycling. Once Zemo attacks on turn 4, his Boast ability exiles fifteen black pips to cast up to three copied spells for free. This cheat engine quickly overwhelms opponents with lethal damage amplification from Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Archfiend of Despair, while Painful Quandary and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse tax opposing life totals. If Zemo is disrupted, the deck naturally transitions into a robust mono-black reanimator strategy backed by Cabal Coffers and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth.
