Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Angel tribal and lifegain midrange deck commanded by Liesa, Forgotten Archangel. The strategy focuses on accelerating into high-impact flying creatures while accumulating life through synergies like Bishop of Wings and Righteous Valkyrie. Liesa, Forgotten Archangel acts as both a value engine and an asymmetric stax piece, returning friendly nontoken creatures to hand on death while exiling opposing creatures that die. This neutralizes aristocrat and reanimation strategies across the table. The deck applies consistent pressure through evasive aerial combat boosted by anthems like Lyra Dawnbringer and finishes games either through heavy combat damage or life drain effects like Sanguine Bond. While vulnerable to mass exile and countermagic due to limited stack interaction, the deck maintains resilience through recurring card flow, robust spot removal, and commander redundancy.
