Deck overview

This Gruul Voltron deck pairs Karlach, Fury of Avernus with Raised by Giants in the command zone to turn Karlach into a 10/10 Giant that takes two combat phases every turn. Dense 1–2 CMC acceleration ensures Karlach lands on Turn 4 and the Background resolves on Turn 5, presenting an immediate 20 commander damage threat. Damage multipliers like Two-Handed Axe, Calamity Bearer, Xenagos, God of Revels, and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar allow the deck to eliminate multiple opponents in explosive single-turn bursts. The list supports this aggression with low-cost trample enablers and targeted protection spells such as Heroic Intervention, Tamiyo's Safekeeping, and Bolt Bend. While vulnerable to chump blockers and creature removal if protection is not drawn, the deck maintains strong redundancy and fast backup threats through alternate heavy beaters like Titan of Industry and Gigantic Big Bear.
