Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines traditional Elf tribal synergy with an oppressive -1/-1 counter attrition engine led by High Perfect Morcant. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-cost mana dorks to cast Morcant ahead of curve, triggering repeated Blight 1 effects across all opponents whenever Elves enter the battlefield. By tapping three Elves to proliferate at sorcery speed, the deck steadily shrinks opposing creatures while preserving its own board state. Synergistic payoffs such as Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Massacre Girl, Known Killer, and Necroskitter turn dying enemy creatures into token swarms, card draw, and stolen permanents. With opposing boards kept clear, the deck wins through overwhelming combat damage from wide Elf armies boosted by Elvish Archdruid, large life drains via Exsanguinate, or an infinite loop using Blowfly Infestation and Flourishing Defenses. Strong removal and steady value engines provide resilience, though the deck remains vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and stack-based combo strategies.
