Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Betor, Ancestor's Voice to blend life manipulation, counters, and end-step graveyard recursion into a lethal combo engine. The deck ramps on Turns 1 through 3 to deploy Betor or powerful tutors by Turn 4. Life fluctuations from fetchlands, painlands, and lifelink attackers fuel Betor's end-step ability, placing +1/+1 counters on key creatures and returning utility pieces from the graveyard to the battlefield. The primary win condition centers on the infinite life-drain loop between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity. Alternate win conditions include Bolas's Citadel paired with Aetherflux Reservoir and combat blowouts backed by Hatred or Eerie Ultimatum. While the deck is vulnerable to targeted graveyard hate and lacks counterspells, its dense tutor package, resilient reanimation spells, and protective pieces like Dragonlord Dromoka ensure consistent Turn 5 finishes.
