Deck overview

This mono-black combo-control deck uses Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire as a repeatable tutor engine to assemble a unique life-drain victory centered on Oft-Nabbed Goat. Under normal rules, accumulating five -1/-1 counters causes the Goat to die of 0 toughness, yielding only a minor life-drain trigger. By attaching Luxior, Giada's Gift, the Goat gains +1/+1 for every counter on it, offsetting the -1/-1 penalty and allowing it to safely amass dozens of counters. The deck accelerates counter placement using proliferate spells, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, and doubling artifacts like Aetheric Amplifier and Arcade Cabinet. Once the Goat holds sufficient counters, it is sacrificed to trigger a massive, simultaneous life-loss wave across all opponents, often halved in requirement by Archfiend of Despair. Dense, low-cost removal spells and board sweepers stall opposing attackers while the multi-piece combo is systematically tutored and deployed.
