Commander: Doran, Besieged by Time

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Abzan toughness-matters deck built around Doran, Besieged by Time, with Doran, the Siege Tower serving as a hidden commander in the 99. The commander reduces the cost of high-toughness, low-power creatures and turns its own attack into a massive pump; redundant anthems (Assault Formation, Bedrock Tortoise, Felothar, Huatli, Rasaad) make toughness the main combat stat. Growth engines such as Canopy Gargantuan and Unnatural Growth inflate toughness, while Betor, Kin to All drains opponents once total toughness reaches 40. The primary win is a huge commander swing or team alpha strike, backed by recursion and protection. Its limits are a single tutor, modest draw, no counterspells, and several tapped lands.
