Deck overview

This Sultai deck focuses on Teval, the Balanced Scale to turn self-mill and land drops into an expanding army of Zombie tokens and mana advantage. Early turns use efficient 1- and 2-mana ramp to cast Teval on Turn 3, preparing an attack on Turn 4 that mills cards and recurs lands directly to the battlefield. The deck fills the graveyard quickly using cards like Life from the Loam, Six, and Hedron Crab, converting every card leaving the graveyard into additional board presence. Multiple redundant engines, including Conduit of Worlds, Muldrotha, the Gravetide, and Insidious Roots, allow the deck to treat the graveyard as an accessible second hand. Once a wide token board is established with Scute Swarm, Field of the Dead, or Avenger of Zendikar, the deck overwhelms opponents on Turns 6 and 7 using Craterhoof Behemoth, Wonder, or a game-ending Living Death.
