Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai tempo-spellslinger build centered on Massimo, the Magician. The primary game plan is to stock the graveyard on Turn 1 with powerful 1-CMC instants and sorceries such as Boltwave, Brainstorm, and Ponder, deploy cheap unblockable creatures on Turn 2, and use Massimo on Turn 3 to exile those spells onto the attackers. When these creatures connect, they cast the exiled spells for free on every combat. This engine triggers Magecraft and spell-damage permanents like Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Erebor Flamesmith, converting combat connections into table-wide burn and immense card advantage. Double strike from Blade Historian or Wraith, Vicious Vigilante, along with trigger doubling from Delney, Streetwise Lookout, accelerates damage output. The deck can also close games using Strixhaven Stadium counter accumulation. While vulnerable to board wipes, it recovers quickly through redundant evasive threats and low-cost cantrips.
