Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and midrange token strategy led by Hylda of the Icy Crown. It converts tapping effects into massive board presence, card selection, and team-wide buffs. By pairing cheap tap spells and repeatable tappers with Hylda, every tapped opposing creature creates a 4/4 Elemental token, scries and draws, or permanently strengthens your board. The deck controls the tempo of the table through versatile countermagic, efficient spot removal, and continuous creature lockdown. Once established, lock engines like Opposition and Junk Winder shut down opposing mana and attackers, while mass tap spells such as Blustersquall clear paths for lethal combat swings. The deck achieves strong resilience through redundant tap enablers, robust card flow, and protective counterspells, offering a balanced control game plan that transitions smoothly into an overwhelming token finish.
