Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages The Meep as a unique combat finisher by converting cheap, high-mana-value creatures into massive team-wide power buffs. By using cards with cost-reduction, alternate casting costs, or warp abilities such as Shadow of Mortality, Bygone Colossus, and Demon of Death's Gate, the deck cheats huge mana values onto the board. When The Meep attacks, sacrificing one of these behemoths sets the base power and toughness of all your creatures to match that sacrificed card's mana value. A modest swarm of 1/1 tokens suddenly becomes a lethal army of 9/9s or 15/15s. The deck backs up this aggressive combat plan with solid mono-black ramp doublers, resilient aristocrat drain effects, and strong single-target removal, while retaining an independent late-game plan powered by Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Grave Titan.
