Deck overview

This deck is a five-color tribal control and combo engine commanded by Reaper King. It leverages the changeling mechanic to turn every creature into a Scarecrow, weaponizing Reaper King's enter-the-battlefield trigger to systematically destroy opposing permanents. Mana acceleration from low-cost creatures and artifacts enables deploying Reaper King by Turn 4–5. Once active, low-mana changelings like Universal Automaton and flicker spells like Ephemerate and Teleportation Circle create repeated targeted destruction, stripping opponents of key lands, commanders, and combo pieces. Massive card draw from Stinging Study and The One Ring keeps the hand full of interaction and gas. High-efficiency free protection spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat defend the board against removal. The deck finishes games through a devastating asymmetric land lockout, combat damage from buffed changelings, a kicked Rite of Replication, or an infinite creature loop using Maskwood Nexus and Turntimber Ranger.
