Deck overview

This deck is a classic Jund Group Slug and Wheel strategy commanded by Xira Arien. Rather than pursuing infinite combos or hard stax locks, the deck accelerates table-wide draw through symmetric engines like Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, and Anvil of Bogardan. It weaponizes this flow with a dense suite of draw-punishing permanents, including Underworld Dreams, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Fate Unraveler, and Razorkin Needlehead, along with hand-size punishers like Iron Maiden and Viseling. Once a punisher is established, resolving wheel spells like Wheel of Fortune, Reforge the Soul, and Molten Psyche inflicts massive bursts of 14 to 21 damage per player. The deck lacks targeted tutors and fast mana, relying instead on raw card flow and deep functional redundancy to maintain velocity. Efficient defensive tools like Deflecting Swat and Heroic Intervention shield key permanents while life totals rapidly drain across two response cycles.
