Riddles in the dark by user9627585

Format: Commander

Commander: Gollum, Riddle Master

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck uses Gollum, Riddle Master as a steady value engine while it grinds toward sacrifice loops. You choose odd or even and gain a +1/+1 counter, drain, or card each time an opponent casts a spell of that quality, which fuels longer games. The real wins come from drain loops with Blood Artist, Marionette Apprentice, Ayara, Gray Merchant and Kokusho, often enabled by Mikaeus, Yawgmoth and Phyrexian/Ashnod's Altars with Pitiless Plunderer and recursive creatures like Reassembling Skeleton and Forsaken Miner. Bolas's Citadel and Torment of Hailfire provide alternative payoffs, and heavy recursion lets you rebuild through removal.
