Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages suicidal life payments and life-total manipulation to turn low life totals into lethal weapons. Built around Mister Negative, the strategy actively drains its own life using enablers like Wall of Blood, Blood Celebrant, and Unspeakable Symbol. Once at a critically low life total (often 1 life), the deck casts Mister Negative or spells like Repay in Kind to exchange life with opponents, dropping them to the brink of elimination while simultaneously gaining massive life and drawing cards. Payoffs such as Wound Reflection, Astarion, the Decadent, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose convert this life loss into instant eliminations, while blink engines like Teleportation Circle repeatedly swap life across the entire table. Safety nets including Phyrexian Unlife, Pact Weapon, and Everybody Lives! ensure survival during perilous life drops. Robust targeted removal and explosive draw engines provide high consistency despite the inherent risk of playing at near-zero life.
